Since 2008, for the first time in Santa Marta, the Wiwa Tour Travel Agency, operated by Wiwa indigenous people from the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta, we started to offer tourist services with indigenous guides, a new way of sustainable work for indigenous communities, which unlike other travel agencies, we directly help with the contribution and local economic development, where these destinations are operated.

Our indigenous guides stand out for having their own ancestral perspective of the Sierra Nevada and the sacred (archaeological) sites, which are part of the origin and legacy that has passed from generation to generation, through the spiritual leaders who still preserve all these customs and traditions that go hand in hand with nature.

The main objective of Indigenous Tourism of the “Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta” is to teach travelers about the protection of the environment, our ecosystems and biodiversity in flora and fauna, so that the tourist gets a clear idea of the culture, customs and sustainable thoughts of the indigenous peoples that inhabit this irreplaceable place in the world, the “Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta
