ITINERARY OF THE TREK TO CERRO KENNEDY

Excursion start

We leave at approximately 7:30 am, from your hotel or place of accommodation in Santa Marta, making a journey of approximately 14 km in a 4×4 Jeep until we reach the township of Minca, where we will carry out a panoramic tour, and we will visit a coffee farm in order to learn about the organic coffee process. We continue our Jeep tour along an uncovered road, approximately 21 km to the Path of the Tagua, in this place we started a 3 km trek approximately until country estate Santa Elena, there we will settle, we will have a welcome snack and a typical lunch of the region, then we will be able to take a tour of the surroundings and appreciate a beautiful sunset from the mountains on Ciénaga Grande de Santa Marta and the Caribbean Sea at night we will have dinner and rest in this farm.

We get up very early to appreciate the view of the snowy peaks from the Finca Santa Elena and have a healthy breakfast.
We started a Trek in ascent of 5.5 km, approximately by mountainous trails until reaching the viewpoint of Cerro Kennedy, located 3,100 meters above sea level. During this tour we will have a beautiful view of the mountains, especially those of the snowy peaks Bolívar and Colon, this walk is done through different trails, crossing the streams of crystal clear waters that are born from the Sierra Nevada, we will also be able to appreciate the immense variety of endemic birds that live in the area.
After this tour we will return to the Finca Santa Elena to have lunch and start our journey back to Santa Marta.

To book this trek, a $70 USD deposit, per person, equivalent to 20% of the total value of the tour ($350 USD), through our web payment gateway, the 80% remaining (280 USD) must be paid the same day we go on an excursion to Cerro Kennedy.

The identity document is a fundamental requirement to reserve the Cerro Kennedy Trekking for nationals, a copy of the personal identification card or passport in case of being a foreigner. For the day we go out on the tour, it is not necessary to bring your identity document, at least bring a copy of it.

To cancel or modify a confirmed reservation, you must contact us 48 hours before the start of the Tour, during business hours.
